Terms of Service

Plain-language summary: Play fair, be respectful, don't cheat or abuse other players. Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime in one click. We can suspend accounts that break these rules. See our Refund Policy for how refunds work.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Chezzle ("the Service", at chezzle.cc), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to create an account.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
One person per account; do not share, sell, or transfer accounts.
Usernames must not impersonate others, contain hateful or obscene content, or infringe trademarks.

3. Fair play & conduct

Chezzle is a competitive chess game. You agree not to:

Use chess engines, bots, or external assistance in games meant to be played by humans.
Manipulate ratings, matchmaking, clan wars, or leaderboards (sandbagging, boosting, collusion).
Exploit bugs for advantage instead of reporting them.
Harass, threaten, or send abusive messages to other players.

We may remove content, reset ratings, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

4. Purchases, subscriptions & virtual items

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
Master and Grandmaster subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from the Shop (Manage subscription) or by emailing support@chezzle.cc; access continues to the end of the paid period.
Gems and cosmetic items are a limited, revocable licence to use in-game virtual content. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are non-transferable.
"Never pay-to-win": purchases never alter game outcomes. All puzzles and game modes are free to play.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. EU/UK consumers have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, subject to the exceptions described there.

5. User content

You retain ownership of messages and content you submit, but grant Chezzle a licence to store and display it as needed to operate the Service. Chat is filtered but you are responsible for what you send.

6. Availability & changes

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We aim to give notice of material changes to these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept them.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chezzle is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, ratings, or virtual items. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, your licence to virtual items ends.
